The best thing about being a teacher: The best thing is that one always remains young in the presence of youthful and energetic children. Answering umpteen questions keeps the spirit of curiosity alive.

How did you feel on the first day being a school principal: I felt a little nervous and could feel a slight pressure of the huge responsibility entrusted to me. The best thing about being a teacher/leader: The best thing is that you have a team to give shape to your ideas and create hundreds of their’s out of one of yours.

Please describe the role you feel parents should play in the operation of the school: Parents should co – operate fully in all the projects and policies of the school and pay heed to whatever suggestions the teachers give. Parents and school should truly be the wind under the wings of their children to give a thrust to their life during the thick and thin of life.

First indications that the classroom is an effective learning place: A healthy classroom transaction taking place with the teachers and the students eagerly interacting on a concept or a hands – on – project.

Vision of special education : To facilitate achievement for children with special needs by providing conducive environment which is at par with other students.

To make inclusion a reality: The aim should be to maximize the development and freedom of the child. Inclusive education should function within and as a part of the regular school framework to make it a reality.

The primary goal should be the enhancement of regular school programmes as a resource for all children. Some individual time should be given to special children during specific periods and at other times when the class activities are held, they should be a part of regular class.

View on CCE: CCE pattern works best at primary and middle level. We cannot deny the fact that competition improves quality. On the other hand, in senior classes, this is affecting the amount of hard work a student puts in for being a topper.

The work of teachers has become tedious. With minor changes in CCE, the students can be brought back to diligent work as with this they seem to be unprepared for senior classes i.e. XI & XII.

View on e-learning platform: e – learning platforms are versatile, convenient and economical platforms to enhance and share knowledge at one’s pace, bringing people at par with global standards.

Best conference/seminar you have attended on education: Conferences by Edu Excellence conducted by Dr.Harish Chaudhary from IIT Delhi.

Qualities you seek in a new teacher : I look for happy, young faces who have the light of curiosity and eagerness in their eyes, who are ready to unlearn and re – learn with students, are free from any ego and are full of enthusiasm.

Advice that you want to give to new teachers: Feel the pulse of the class, flow with it and tune it according to your beliefs.
