one face… many shades!!!
In thirty years of my teaching experience, I have come to understand that this vocation has many faces… As many as we ourselves.
It has the different shades of parenting and various roles to play. The supervisor in class and a friend in the corridor.
An actor who holds the centre stage everyday, to extend his/her opinion, view and thinking into the future.
The key to inspire students to fly skywards and walk back home. The bridge between the school, society and parents.
The ignition key to light a fire in every child’s mind and imagination; and being there for them to prevent a burn out.
Professor of time-management but staying awake after dinner to complete corrections.
A trainer to teach the child to challenge, question, create and wonder within the boundaries of discipline and dignity.
The cheerleader of the students’ victories but remain modest and humble when it’s time for them to cheer for us.
The love of a parent but can easily detach when it’s time for the next session.
An observer from the day a toddler walks in, kissing away tears with hugs and kisses to the teenager who walks past without a nod or a smile.
Being a teacher means dedicating your life and waiting for the dream, that may take a lifetime, to come true.
Happy Teacher’s Day
‘We hold the future in our hands… With great care we tread paths unknown, wiping a tear now and then, sharing the students’ little joys of life. Guiding them as they paint their beautiful world. Loving them for who they are and edging them to forge ahead. Celebrating every single success and helping them look beyond the dark clouds. Holding them up
for the world to rejoice… The beginning of better tomorrows.
Yes, we hold the future in our hands and the power to shape the world.’
Cheers to the architects of a better world and the great teachers of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
