Let’s Empower The Teachers!
John Wooden rightly said, “I think the teaching profession contributes more to the future of our society than any other single profession.” Teaching is such a noble profession and it is the teachers who shape the citizens of tomorrow, that’s why the quality of teachers is very important. For this, teachers need to be adequately educated and trained.
The government is introducing a four-year integrated B.Ed. programme from this year with an aim to improve the quality of teachers and teaching. So, the 2-year Bachelor of Education degree would give way to 4-year integrated teacher training programme.
This will ensure that people who are genuinely interested in making teaching as a profession would choose this course right from graduation level. Candidates, who complete this course, are qualified to teach at secondary and senior secondary schools in the Indian schools.
Teaching is an ongoing learning process and from time to time, teacher training workshops are conducted in schools to make them abreast of the world class pedagogies and practices. They should be provided latest information on classroom management, curriculum resources, emerging technology tools, etc.
Teachers transform lives….let’s empower our teachers with the best tools and learnings so that they can bring the best in students. In this issue, teachers can read about the impact of the 4-year integrated B.Ed. course on education. Besides, there are interesting articles on integrating art in education, using teaching moments effectively, project management, etc.
Happy learning and happy teaching!
