Hari Mohnani is M Sc, B Ed from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. After having taught in schools for twenty years, she is now Head of Mahatma Gandhi Primary School in Ahmedabad.
What is your focus in education?
I focus on enriching the classroom experience for my students and create a holistic learning environment. I experiment with methodologies for teaching which build critical thinking and communication skills through coding. I am a believer in the transformational nature of education which should be imparted with true commitment to fulfill the larger objective of this noble endeavour.
What do you feel is important in life?
I firmly believe that every child is a winner and unique and is born to do something special. For that 4 P’s in life are important –
1. Purpose (aim of your life)
2. Preparedness (keep yourself abreast of changes, be ready to face any challenges)
3. Passion (what you do)
4. Peace of mind (stay calm and serene to become a good decision maker)
What do you feel a leader should follow?
Being a leader one should always keep in mind commitment, compassion and creativity. Those who accept life with cheerfulness, and learn from it are true winners.
Would you like to give any special message for students?
My mantras for students are: Perceive, Conceive, Believe,
Achieve I believe whatever be your choice pursue it with
admirable focus. If we remain focused, we will be considerably rewarded.
Please tell us about your special achievements?
During my long teaching career, I developed and implemented daily unit lesson plans for 7th grade, administered tests and evaluations and analyzed student performance.
I conducted group/individual reading, math and science activities.
I participated in faculty and parent conferences.
I fostered a classroom environment conducive to learning and promoting excellent student engagement and developed admirable rapport with students.
What has been your involvement in curricular activities?
I have been involved in a very active role of conducting co-curricular activities which includes the following:
a) Enhancing academic performance
b) Behavioral skills
d) Inculcating good moral values by being sensitive and understanding towards others.
Have you been engaged in any other school activities too?
I have earned accolades for the quality and creativity of class room teaching, lesson plans and instructional materials used in teaching diverse subjects like Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies.
I have also actively served on a variety of school committees and task forces focused on curriculum development, textbook review and fundraising and anti-bullying efforts.
I established positive relationships with students, parents, fellow teachers and school administrators/staff.
