by Dr. R.S. Aggarwal, Vikas Aggarwal

The primary classes form the foundation of a student’s knowledge. It is at this very level that a child grasps the most fundamental concepts of mathematics which he goes on to apply to all sorts of  fields in higher classes. So, it becomes essential to make him understand these concepts very clearly.

Keeping the above in mind, Composite Mathematics has been designed for the students of Pre-Primary – Class V to introduce the learners to the most fundamental concepts of mathematics. This series has been prepared strictly in accordance with the NCERT/ CBSE syllabus. It ensures complete involvement of the learners in the learning process and is in keeping with the latest trends in the teaching of mathematics.

The books are organized systematically. Every effort is made to present the theory in a very simple language and support the facts with examples from everyday life. Interesting activities have been given so that the child himself can observe the results and derive the essential facts.
Questions for practice have been given in such a lucid and interesting manner that the child will enjoy working on them.

Sufficient questions are provided for practice on each topic.

The series is CCE-oriented and Activity-based. It has three features – Maths Lab Activities, MCQs and CCE Drills.

Maths Lab Activities are provided so that the child can practise to be albe to understand the concept with ease. These are interesting enough to draw the attention of the learners.

CCE Drills consist of two parts. Part I provides multiple choice questions based on the content of the chapter. Part II comprises a self-assessment test in which short-answer questions, true/ false questions and fill in the blanks have been given. Drills are intended to reinforce the understanding of the learners.

MCQs are given to assess the skills and abilities of the learners and to provide them a broader coverage in a relatively efficient way.
